Wow, what a great weekend. I'll try to get some pictures up soon. For a little recap, the weekend involved: fun finds at the swap meet including a bubble gum pink sweater I'm wearing right now, preparing for the barbecue, soaking my toes in the incredible inflatable pool we put up in the yard, parasols and bathing suits, good company, good drinks, great food, getting to see the fireworks from a bridge down the street from my house, wrapping it all up with a bonfire in the yard and friends with guitars and incredible voices. Oh, and a bubble machine providing Southern-California-friendly "fireworks". It was incredible.
Now I'm preparing for a big couple of weeks: my family comes into town on Friday, and then I'm off to London a week from Thursday!
So, with all the busy preparation, I'm keeping it simple and keeping any serious projects at bay until I return. But that doesn't mean I can't look. So here is a collage artist (Valerie Roybal) I came across. I'm inspired by her bright yet understated and thoughtful style.
Another artist I'm liking today is Anne Toebbe. There is something really homey and comforting about her home interiors.
Listening to Django Reinhardt.
